The Manifold Valley and Dovedale are both just 10 mins down the hill, whilst 3 mins the other way, The Roaches with its rugged gritstone peaks is a mecca for climbers and also a spectacular walk with views as far as Snowdonia on a clear day.
Cycling – The area is wonderful for cycling whether you want challenging hills on quiet country roads or safe family rides along traffic free former railway lines such as the HighPeak and Tissington Trails or the Manifold valley. If you need to hire a bike there are hire centres at Parsley Hay and Waterhouses and Ashbourne.
